The Municipality of Schwechat have been involved in sports for many years and sets its citizens in motion as the sportiest city in Lower Austria. This concept includes a myriad of services for all ages and abilities as well as excellent conditions for all sporting matters. A partnership with the Multiversum, the largest sports hall in Schwechat, is the logical extension and continuation of the efforts from the Municipality of Schwechat in the area of health policy.
SVS
Alongside the Municipality of Schwechat, successful collaborations with kindergartens, schools and senior citizens have been realised and implemented for over 30 years.
In addition to popular sport, SVS has made a name for itself in professional sports - from table tennis world champion Werner Schlager and track and field athlete Gerhard Mayer to successful volleyball players - they are all members of SVS; the outstanding results of years of good work. And all of these, from professional athletes to recreational athletes, from young to old, have found a new sporting home in the Multiversum.
Sportland Lower Austria plays a leading role in Austria. No other state promotes and sponsors sport on all levels - from grass-root sports to junior and club sports to paralympic sports and world-class sports.
To promote sporting success, Sportland Lower Austria annually invests large amounts into the establishment and maintenance of sporting facilities.
Table Tennis World Champion, Werner Schlager, is the founder and namesake behind this international table tennis centre of excellence, which is based in the Multiversum. 365 days a year these doors to the table tennis world are opened to world-class players as well as performance and recreational athletes, junior players, children and schools. Werner Schlager and his team provide unique world-wide training conditions and facilities. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is even planning to set up their European headquarters in the WSA.
The Austrian Ministry of Sport has an active and healthy society to achieve their purpose. Sport and exercise from an early age is the foundation for a healthy life. Professional support for athletes is just as important as comprehensive support for all areas of grass-root sports. All this is united under one roof at the Multiversum.
